Experience and innovation for your heat transition

Solites is active in all areas of heat supply that cause minimal emissions in the interests of sustainability.

We work together in different teams and enjoy our work – also during our internal knowledge transfer.

We check each other’s results using the dual control principle and only publish when the quality is right.

Much of our everyday work takes place digitally. We make an effort to get to know the built reality (Speicher Meldorf, 2023).

From 2005 to 2025, Solites has continued to evolve.
The team celebrates Solites’ 20th anniversary in 2025.

What we do

We research and advise on innovative and new technologies for which no state of the art exists yet or where it needs to be adapted to new issues.

Our focus lies on large solar thermal systems, shallow geothermal energy, simulation, large heat storages, integrated systems and energy-conscious behaviour.

We are among the know-how leaders in many of these key areas and are constantly striving to develop further. Based on our experience, we advise politicians and decision-makers, develop markets, conduct training courses and tailor our knowledge to specific target groups. We support local authorities, heat suppliers, industrial companies, housing developers, investors, suppliers and other stakeholders, primarily in Germany and Europe, but also worldwide.

How we work

Making the world of heat supply greener, cleaner and more sustainable is what drives us every day.

We enjoy finding creative answers to research questions and developing innovations that can be applied in practice. We are among the know-how leaders in many of our key areas and want to expand on that.

We think, puzzle, solve and laugh together. We develop personally and professionally. We are flexible and work flexibly. We do our best every day to make the world a little better.

We decide together and are involved in the future and the success of our work results.

We are successful in what we do. We are Solites.

We treat each other with respect and openness, support each other and can rely on each other.
Having fun with our tasks is our maxim.

Respect for the personal and family needs of all employees, gender equality and the responsible use of our resources are important to us.

We work in a committed, professional and constructive manner in project teams with clear tasks and responsibilities. We cultivate a constructive feedback culture and learn from our mistakes. We have a flat hierarchy and work self-responsibly. Our management always has an open ear for the employees’ concerns.

We have a good and trusting relationship with all our project partners. We achieve the set goal in a reasonable time and are also prepared to question the goal. In doing so, we are and always remain professionally and ethically correct.

We are independent of technologies, products, manufacturers and current trends.
We maintain a scientific openness and prefer cooperation to competition.
We are always open to new ideas. We are forward thinkers.

We value and maintain a good professional exchange throughout the company and in every project, including with our external partners. We broaden our horizons and pass on our own knowledge at specialist conferences and events. We conduct internal training courses and specialist excursions.

Our project teams usually consist of several employees with different specialist qualifications. This structural mix allows us all to expand our specialist knowledge internally.
We regularly exchange information within the project teams on the status of work and the distribution of tasks.

We discuss current research questions and develop new project ideas together.
We see the design and development of Solites as a team task.

We develop solutions that go beyond the state of the art, can be implemented in practice and contribute to the heat transition and climate protection. Our results are scientifically and technically correct. We check each other’s work using the dual control principle and only publish results when we are convinced of their quality. This enables us to exceed the expectations of our customers and clients.

Even unexpected or negative results are valuable experiences for us that expand our knowledge and ultimately produce good things.

Our results demonstrate our claim to be professional leaders in our fields of work.

Where we come from

Solites was founded in May 2005 by former employees of the Institute of Thermodynamics and Thermal Engineering at the University of Stuttgart.

Since then, the Solites team has grown steadily and has consistently expanded its specialist leadership in its business areas.

Within the Steinbeis network, Solites consists of two Steinbeis companies:

  • As Steinbeis Transfer GmbH, we advise you on your heat transition.
  • As Steinbeis Innovation gGmbH, we conduct research in publicly funded research projects.

Here you can find the press release on the 20th anniversary in 2025 (in German language).
